Started in 1965, Brahmin’s Coffee Bar is a city landmark that is still frequented by generations of loyalists for its breakfast and evening tiffin. Situated in Basavangudi, it remains one of Bangalore’s most memorable dining experiences. There’s no seating inside, so most diners finish their food in the courtyard outside.
The spare menu offers only four dishes, but each is prepared to perfection using family recipes. These include soft idlis, crisp vadas and tangy khara bath, all served with coconut chutney in steel plates. Finish your meal with a serving of sweet kesari bath and a glass of steaming filter coffee.
The Idly just melts in the mouth, exactly, no need to chew…it’s really awesome! Khara Bhat is just wow! Really tasty food! There are delicate pieces of pineapple in Kesari Bhaat and the dish itself is soft and yummy! Vada is extremely crisp, one of the best I’ve ever had. The show-stealer is the chutney, just amazing and out-of-the-world…!!! Taste it to believe this…!!!
