Mast Kalandar

Being lonely on a weekend at home, laziness of routine cooking and willingness to eat home-delivered north-Indian meal made me shortlist Mast Kalandar. I ended up ordering the HP3 combo from a food-delivery app. The meal was delivered within the mentioned time, with nice packaging. They charge extra for the packaging, but it’s worth it.

The meal consisted of 2 subzi, 4 phulkas, rice, dal, salad, raita, gulab-jamun & Chaas.

  • Chaas, Buttermilk, was runny with lot of water and had a tinge of tadka in it (coriander and jeera).
  • The Paneer Curry was not very impressive. The gravy was extra sweet with barely pieces of paneer in it.
  • Dal was perfect – jeera, haldi, namak, lal mirchi ka tadka… just home like, well cooked.
  • The Mixed Veg. subzi was bland.
  • Phulkas were hot, light and nicely made. Phulkas are one plus-point of Mast Kalandar.
  • Peas Pulav was good with a nice hint of ginger in it. I liked the taste.
  • The hot, soft and yummy gulab-jamun was the show-stopper. I just loved it.

Overall, a fine place to order food from, at least when you are expecting good packaging and nice sweet-dish J

Not exactly… Their Paneer Curry has barely few small pieces of Paneer.. Sheer Disappointment for a Northie! Only their Delivery and packaging is good!
