Big is definitely the buzzword at this new watering hole. Big Pitcher is housed in a large, imposing building on Old Airport Road and is spread across six very spacious floors. Big Pitcher is Bangalore’s Biggest Microbrewery and a unique hangout zone – a place that mixes music, fun, entertainment and action like never before. The sheer size, and the facade with its geometrical design are arresting, but it’s the gleaming copper vats behind a large glass window that will keep you riveted for those few seconds longer.
We were invited with fellow food bloggers for a tasting session of their new signature dishes launched at Splitwood – which is one of their restaurants located in the 2nd floor.
With more of a Tex-Mex feel, we were greeted by a large airy and comparatively bright space, done up in a Country-Western theme replete with boots, cowboy hats and antique guns.
Their Tag line – “EAST on Food, WEST on mood” is true for their specialty of fusion of oriental western cuisine and the Wild Western Woody Décor…
Being a Micro-Brewery, it was obvious to start the meet with Beer Tasting. This place boasts of quite a different variety of Beers – Hop Witch (American Pale Ale beer ), Adjust Maadi (German Hefeweizen beer ), and Czech that Pilsner (Pilsner beer), King Slayer (Wheat Ale beer), Sarava (Witbier beer) and their Seasonal Special Beer (Coffee and Chocolate Flavored); and each had its own distinct flavor.
There were few Cocktails and Mocktails also.
- Four Play: Deadly combination of Four Liquors (Tequila, Gin, Vodka and Rum) with Fresh watermelon juice.
- Kiss on the Lips: A wonderful combination of Vodka and Kahlua mixed excellently.
- High Seas Adventure: Vodka Vanilla and Coconut Milk, served in an Earthen Pot with yellow flower.
- Cosmopolitan: The classic cocktail containing Vodka, Cranberry Juice and a dash of lime Juice.
- Tricky Micky: This is a Refreshing Mocktail with Passion Fruit, Fresh Mint, Pineapple, Kiwi and Spirit.
- Electric Lemon: Fresh lemon, Mint Leaves, Ginger, Blueberry and Cranberry Juice mixed up to make a fabulous Mocktail.
And here comes some Innovative Fusion Dishes…
Islander Shrimp Salad:
Marinated and sautéed mushrooms garnished with cheese and tortilla chips!
Dragon Chilli Paneer:
Melt in the mouth paneer sautéed in Red Chilli sauce… Marvellous!
Ever so Delicious Basil and Mint flavor grill Tofu and hot pineapple medley!

Grease away your tensions and grace yourself with this cheesy, crazy, dressed to the nines, signature Indianized Pizza. This Innovative Pizza with Soft Buttery naan as a base and topped with soft spicy paneer butter masala served with green chilies and lime slice, just too yum to resist!

The Sweeter Note of the Lunch – Desserts…
Crème Brule: Caramelized egg custard Vanilla with garnished fruits… The Presentation and Garnishing of fresh fruits was awesome, but somehow the egg custard was not up to my liking.
Sizzling Brownie: The Classic Sizzling Hot Choco-walnut brownie served with fried vanilla ice-cream in fresh grated coconut and sugar syrup. The Brownie was warm, soft and fluffy with crunchy walnuts in it. The flavor of fresh coconut in the vanilla ice-cream is marvelous…!
It was a Lovely Sunday Lunch with my fellow bloggers having some really awesome drinks, innovative yet delicious food, amazing western ambience, rocking music and warm hospitality…!!
