Kelicha Shikran – Banana Milk Dessert

#29 of 30: Birthday Surprise for Hubby

Banana-Ice-Cream

My Father used to make Shikran at least once a week as a sweet-dish along with our regular Lunch…  When mother used to be in Kitchen making hot chapatis, My Father used to mash the peeled bananas by his hands in a bowl and then add lots of cream and chilled milk and sugar into it… And then it used to be my duty to stir and dissolve all the sugar properly into this sweet, yummy milky banana dessert…

Banana goes very well with milk than any other fruit. This Dish is very nutritious and healthy, also it gives instant energy. This Simple yet awesome Banana Dessert is served with Chapati in Maharashtra; but this is also a good option for Breakfast and evening snacks as it fills you up quickly. Also, This Dish is preferred on fasting days to retain the energy levels. I like it most as a chilled dessert.

Ingredients:

  • One cup of chopped banana
  • Half cup of boiled and cooled milk
  • Sugar to taste
  • A big pinch of cardamom powder
  • Chopped Almonds

  1. Peel and mash the banana properly in a wide bowl.
